Classroom Management A classroom management group was set up late 2003 comprising of academic and general staff with a vested interest in matters relating to teaching space. The group report to Properties Senior Management and have agreed on the following Terms of Reference. To make the process of predicting room needs, booking rooms and delivery component of courses simpler, more transparent and to a set standard, by: 1. Defining standards 2. Educating end users 3. Optimising the use of space 4. Communicating needs, actions and processes 5. Developing and influencing plans for teaching space 6. Monitoring use, suitability and maintenance of teaching space 7. Lobbying the University to improve the quality and quantity of teaching space. And to apply these roles to: A. Technical support B. CATS (Centrally Allocated Teaching Spaces) C. SATS (School Allocated Teaching Space) (not highly specialised) D. Timetabling E. Property management F. Types of rooms G. The effect on teaching space. |
