Curtin to Host Green Building Council Australia's ‘Green Building Day’

May 3, 2016

For the first time in WA, we're delighted to announce that Curtin will be hosting Green Building Council Australia's (GBCA) 'Green Building Day' on Thursday 23 June 2016.

This year's event follows the theme of 'the 2 degree world' - exploring the important role the building and construction industry plays in ensuring that global warming is limited to well below 2 degrees Celsius.

The United Nations Environment Programme declared that, "more than 30 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions are building-related, and emissions could double by 2050 if we carry on business as usual."

As Australia's first 5 Star Green Star – Communities rated Master Plan, we're committed to pursuing and supporting sustainable and innovative approaches to development. This event is an exciting opportunity to learn more about 'green building' initiatives.

This is a full day ticketed event that will give attendees the opportunity to hear from industry experts, network and collaborate, and gain sustainability tools to implement in daily work.
