Teaching and Learning Refurbishment
The Teaching and Learning office space at Curtin's Bentley campus was in need of complete refurbishment. As it sits partially underground, the space had very little natural light, was highly partitioned and had a tired and dated fit-out that was unsuitable for contemporary work practices.
The refurbishment planning and design was based upon a modular, low-height and open-plan workstation fit-out, with plenty of shared breakout spaces for meetings and informal gatherings. With a light and bright interior scheme, with a green wall and plants to reflect the subterranean location, the space was given a fresher feel and conditions that are more enjoyable.
Curtin has a workplace design initiative of providing spaces of collaboration and flexible working environments - this refurbishment not only ticks the boxes for this initiative but also provides a fresher space that is providing better energy efficiency for the University.
