Building 108 Refurbishment
Building 108 was earmarked for refurbishment in 2008 as the squash courts located there were rehoused in the new Recreation and Events Centre upon its completion in 2009.
Building 108 is well located in the health precinct, being adjacent to other Health Science buildings and its conversion into teaching space for the School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work has provided much needed specialised teaching facilities as well as additional centrally allocated space for general academic use and a 99 seat lecture theatre.
Building 108 is now a teaching only environment, providing specialist teaching space for:
- Vocational Rehabilitation/Ergonomics
- Physical Rehabilitation/Neurology
- Mental health
- Bio Mechanics/Splint Laboratory
- Central Teaching Classrooms and a Lecture Theatre
The School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work will be provided with additional dedicated and office accommodation as vacated space in Building 401 will largely become an academic and research staff and HDR student working environment for Occupational Therapy, Social Work, and Psychology with improved after-hours security and access control.
