PUBLIC Campus 2016 @ Curtin

Edoardo Tresoldi creates figurative wire mesh sculptures of humans and animals. The Rome-based artist meticulously hand weaves detailed, lifelike sculptures which seem to depict moments frozen in time.

His life-sized and larger metallic meshed figures are installed in particular environments, giving each work a specific sense of time and place and an ephemeral element reflecting his effort to capture the relation of the human body to space.

This sculpture was an intricate wire mesh torso with linked arms enveloping a young sapling on campus. The living tree moves with the breeze and continues to grow as the ‘earth heart’ of the wirework torso.
