Design & Art Precinct Relife – Stage One Complete

Aug 03, 2018

This project focused on extending the life of Buildings 202, 203 and 212 for the next ten years, and included the refurbishment of amenities in Building 212.

The coming stages of the project will continue to transform the Design & Art Precinct into a more accessible and innovative space on campus. An extension and partial refurbishment of Building 202 will enrich the experience of students and staff by providing formal and informal spaces dedicated to distributed learning and project research, in addition to a digital modelling workshop, covered prototyping yard and Mac Labs.

The project gives the existing precinct a visible face lift and will improve accessibility by providing new ramps and platforms, and a new parents room in the B202 amenities. Significant consideration has also been given to the environmental impact of the project. It is expected that there will be a reduction in overall energy usage thanks to upgrades to existing heating and lighting and there will be minimal impact on existing trees.

The new Design and Art precinct will be a vibrant addition to our Perth campus, and we look forward to the project’s completion. For more information, please visit the Design & Art Precinct Relife project page.
