Students and staff at Curtin have donated over 1300 toys to the Parkerville Children and Youth Care charity as part of the Toys for Tickets initiative.

Toys for Tickets ran throughout November, giving students and staff who received a parking fine the option to donate a new toy to the charity drive instead. This year 500 staff and students substituted their fine for a donation, and nearly 800 donated without receiving a fine.

The Toys for Tickets initiative began in 2014 and has increased in popularity every year since, with 400 more toys donated this year than last year. The Parking team did an excellent job collecting all the toys and finding a room big enough to store them all.

Parkerville Children and Youth Care is a not-for-profit charity that supports children and young people who have experience trauma from abuse. The toys donated will be given to children in need this Christmas. They were collected from the Parking Office for delivery to Parkerville on Tuesday 4 December.
