A refreshed campus map is coming!

This update responds to feedback from users and will provide an enhanced user interface, better features and significant performance improvements. Details of these upgrades are provided below.

Enhanced user interface

• A purpose built smartphone interface for a better mobile experience.
• A redesigned desktop view with an expandable/collapsible side drawer improving visibility.
• New, intuitive icons to make locating points of interest (POIs) easier.
• Additional POI options and information, including:
  • Reference photo: to help you quickly identify locations on campus.
  • Directions: step-by-step directions from your current location to your chosen destination.
  • Copy location URL: share your location on campus.
• Downloadable maps integrated into the map display.

Better features

• An improved search feature that prioritises most useful options.
• An updated “My Location” function to pinpoint your position on campus.
• Ability to rotate map to help make directions and navigation easier.
• Option to use either buildings or rooms as references for navigation.
• General performance improvements meaning faster loading times and a smoother navigation experience.

Key features that will remain

• Intuitive map navigation with the ability to get directions across each of our WA campuses.
• Set directions to avoid obstacles, such as stairs.
• Share locations and directions through easy to paste URLs.
• Show the location of all POIs when a specific category is selected.
• Navigational buttons relocated to the right-hand side of the map screen.
• Easily switch between Curtin campus maps, with the default location set to “Bentley” campus. The campus selection dropdown menu has been relocated to the left-hand side of the search field in desktop view, and below and to the right in mobile view.
• Desktop users can click and hold CTRL while left-clicking to access 3D view.
