Yarning Circle

With an ongoing commitment to delivering on Curtin’s Interim Elevate Reconciliation Action Plan, the development of Curtin University’s Indigenous Learning Circle, known as the Yarning Circle, was a key project across the 2018-2020 iteration of the plan.

6 Star Green Star – Communities Recertification

Curtin University was awarded Australia’s first 5 Star Green Star – Communities rating in 2015, receiving recertification in 2020 with a 6 Star Green Star – Communities rating, elevating the campus’ Green Star recognition level from “Australian Excellence” to ‘World Leadership”.

Public Transport

The Integrated Transport and Movement Plan helps achieve the Greater Curtin vision, ensuring that movement within the campus is pleasant and intuitive, and connections to the wider community and Perth are logical, safe and convenient.

Building 215 Living Laboratory

Supported through the involvement of major industry partners, the Living Lab in the Engineering Pavilion (Building 215), was completed in 2014 as a result of close interdepartmental collaboration between the Faculty of Science and Engineering and Properties, Facilities & Development.

Enhancing our economy

Curtin University is an important part of the State’s economy, contributing approximately 1% of Western Australia’s gross state product in 2016 through a range of stimulants including job creation and research opportunities.

Black Cockatoo habitat revegetation

Curtin’s Black Cockatoo Action Plan (2016-2018) was developed to revegetate available land on campus and mitigate further decline in the already dwindling numbers of black cockatoo species.
