Public Transport

Curtin’s commitment to sustainable operation extends beyond campus grounds to include the methods of transport that students, staff and visitors use to travel to and from Curtin. Public Transport is a key component captured within the Integrated Transport and Movement Plan, which has been created to support delivery of the Greater Curtin Master Plan.

The intent of the Curtin Integrated Transport and Movement Plan is to reduce dependence on single occupant car use and Curtin’s environmental impact, while promoting active lifestyles and engagement with the wider Curtin community.

At present, 23% of campus users commute to Curtin via public transport.

Current actions in place to encourage the use of public transport as a key mode of transport to campus include:

• The delivery of Curtin Central Bus Station as part of the Exchange precinct to increase the frequency and number of bus routes accessing campus
• The subsidisation of Transperth routes 100, 101 and 960 to deliver 433 daily bus arrivals and departures*, in addition to Transperth funded routes 33, 34, 72, 75 and 284
• The provision of the free Curtin Access Bus Service (CABS), servicing the immediate local areas of Bentley, Waterford, South Perth and Victoria Park with 111 circle routes daily*
• The use of PAYG parking, allowing users flexibility between modes of transport as needed

To further Curtin’s commitment to the provision of accessible public transport options, over the coming years Curtin will deliver:

• Activation and curation of Exchange to ensure Curtin Central Bus Station provides a gateway to a vibrant precinct and valuable amenity for the community
• Ongoing collaboration with Transperth to ensure the timing and frequency of routes are servicing student, staff and visitor needs
