Properties, Facilities & Development

We take our role in the community very seriously, and we understand our influence and impact goes far beyond the provision of education. This includes designing, coordinating and facilitating programs and initiatives to help us connect with our students and staff, as well as the wider community.

We encourage people to make more sustainable, healthier lifestyle choices by widely promoting healthy and active living on all of our campuses. For instance, we hold a series of health and fitness related activities at Curtin Stadium, run a Leadership in Sport program, host a range of community-based sports clubs, and have an ongoing partnership with the Fremantle Dockers which promotes female participation in football.

Our Centre for Sport and Recreation Research (CSRR) provides an independent platform that undertakes research on a range of themes, including public open space analysis, coastal activity study and water efficient aquatic centres, amongst other projects.

Our award winning Place Activation program has seen food trucks, outdoor furniture, markets, art and festivals come together to create a lively, inclusive and thoroughly enjoyable student experience.

To make our campuses as safe as possible, we have established a Safer Communities team and are in the initial stages of developing an Integrated Transport and Movement Plan which incorporates safety design elements as well as efficient transport in and around campus.

We are also featured in the Top 10 Pride in Diversity Australian Workplace Equity Index and are an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality.
