As part of the Greater Curtin Stage 1 Community Engagement Program, approximately 200 people from our on-and-off-campus community participated in interactive community-visioning workshops, with contact time totalling over 300 hours.

Researching responsibility

The Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability research program is established to contribute to the improvement of environmental and social systems as well as delivering economic returns.

Building off the Urban Forest Action Plan, we’ve launched our Black Cockatoo Action Plan 2016-2018 which includes extensive planting of native trees across the Perth Campus and Tech Park.

Curtin’s Energy Management Plan will see 100% of buildings at our Perth campus fitted with smart meters, to monitor energy and water use in real time.

Plans grow for urban forest

We launched our six-year Urban Forest Action Plan in 2014, including an initiative to create more Black Cockatoo habitats on our Perth campus.

Place activation prize

Our Place Activation Plan was launched in 2012 in collaboration with Place Match, going on to win the 2013 Planning Institute of Australia Award for Planning Excellence.

Expanding our presence in the CBD

Curtin has leased 137 St Georges Terrace, which will be refurbished to enable the delivery of postgraduate courses and professional development programs in the CBD. The project will target a Green Star – Interiors certification with the internal fit out designed to enhance the property’s heritage features.
